David A. Robinson elected as Chairman of the Irvine Valley College Foundation

July 24, 2009—Irvine Valley College Foundation Installs New Officers

The Irvine Valley College Foundation announced today that David Robinson has been elected to serve as its chairman for the 2009-10 academic year. The other officers who will be serving on the Foundation’s executive committee are: Julie Davis as first vice chairman, William Woollett, Jr. as second vice chairman, Dr. Richard Nelson as treasurer, Beccie Dawson as secretary and Mark Cheung as immediate past chairman.

David Robinson is the managing partner of Enterprise Counsel Group, an Irvine-based law firm. Julie Davis is a partner and CFO of Coast to Coast Business Equipment, an authorized dealer of office equipment for Toshiba, Okidata and Kyocera-Mita. William Woollett, Jr. was hired as the City of Irvine’s first employee and served as its first city manager from 1972 to 1989. One of Irvine’s most beautiful facilities was named after him, the $13.5 million William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. Richard Nelson, Ph.D. is CEO of Micromachines LLC, a high-tech provider of microdevices and consulting services. Beccie Dawson is a past chairman of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce, and in 2008 she received the Irvine Valley College Alumnus of the Year Award. Mark Cheung is an attorney with Wu & Cheung, an Irvine-based law firm.

During the past year, the Irvine Valley College Foundation awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
