EXPERIENCE
Davis Goodman has 24 years’ experience primarily as a transactional attorney and business CEO in California. He has worked with and represented a variety of enterprises engaged in complex business transactions domestically as well as internationally. Transactional partners have included Mitsubishi, Maersk Sealand, Quiksilver, Playtime Toys, Mossimo, Marks & Spencer, Freedom Communications, and American Savings & Loan. Mr. Goodman was previously with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Newport Beach, CA where he was a member of both the corporate and litigation departments and was Of Counsel with Albert S. Golbert & Associates in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Goodman was also the CEO of several companies involved in domestic and international business where he managed and developed multi-level financial and international transactions; intellectual property; licensing, distribution and sales agreements; strategic & financial planning and marketing. Mr. Goodman has authored a treatise on Methods of Payment for international transactions. Additional experience includes editor in chief and publisher of a national business magazine, preparing legislation for a US Congressman and state campaign chairman for a gubernatorial campaign.
EDUCATION
Mr. Goodman is a graduate of Harvard College (A.B. 1977) (where he served on Harvard University’s Endowment Investment Committee and chaired the student/faculty Committee to Revise Undergraduate Education and Housing) and holds three graduate degrees from the University of Cambridge (England) (LL.M. 1981) (Rotary Graduate Fellowship), the Stanford Graduate School of Business (MBA 1985) and Stanford Law School (JD 1985), where he was the Senior Projects Editor of the Stanford Law Review.
MEMBERSHIPS
Mr. Goodman is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California. Mr. Goodman has been an Executive Advisor to the Board of the International Law Section of the California Bar and currently serves on the Board of the LA Arbitration & Conciliation Center.
